AI Trainer Checkpoint: Downswing

Checkpoint: Downswing

Jun 27, 2025

The downswing is a key transitional movement that determines the accuracy of impact in golf. If the flow at this stage breaks down, it can greatly affect both impact and shot direction. That’s why a balanced downswing is essential. For this section, the AI trainer has 4 checkpoints relating to your downswing motion:

Forward lunge

The upper body and head lead the swing out of sequence with lower body at the start of the downswing.

Over the top

The club comes over the top of the swing plane on the downswing.

Early extension

The pelvis and trail knee are moving toward the ball.

Casting

The angle between the wrist and club is released too early.

Learn the rhythm of an efficient and consistent downswing with AI Trainer. It's important to note that while you can of course use the AI trainer feature with any club, currently the driver and 7-iron have integrated modes available. What this means is that the AI Trainer’s evaluation criteria may vary depending on the selected club type during the session. As we improve and update our AI Trainer, more features will be available to use to help you achieve more satisfying and confident swings. Check in periodically on these pages for any new features available through the AI trainer. We appreciate your continued interest and support! If you already have our hardware and are interested in using the AI software, for only $99/year you can do so by purchasing through your my.uneekor account here
