Best Overhead Launch Monitor Contenders: How Does Uneekor Stand Out?

Home golf simulators are rapidly growing in popularity and accessibility. They’ve revolutionized how people practice and play, offering realistic experiences that mimic the world’s most popular courses. With prices ranging from $200 to $75,000 (or even more), golfers from all walks of life are enjoying the benefits of indoor golf simulation and mastering their skills rain or shine.

With a robust array of options and price points available, finding the best overhead launch monitor for you might feel a bit daunting.  But no worries – we’re here to help! Let’s run down a list of the best overhead launch monitors on the market (and wrap up with the best!) to determine which is right for you.

The Best Overhead Launch Monitor Components

Despite the wide array of indoor golf simulators on the market, all of them generally require the same basic components:

The Basics

   •  Net or impact screen

   •  Hitting mat

   •  Phone, iPad, tablet, or computer

   •  Simulator or launch monitor system

For those looking to take their setup to the next level, additional components may include:

  •  Projector

  •  Hitting enclosure

  •  Artificial turf for putting

  •  Third-party simulation software

For golfers thinking about setting up their home golf simulator, and even commercial golf simulators, the goal is to make it feel as real as possible. So, start by figuring out how much space you're working with. Measure it out to see what gear will fit and what won't.

Also, think about whether you want this to be a permanent setup or something you'll pack away each time. This will affect how much you spend and what the best home golf simulator for your needs really is.

The Contenders

Uneekor EYE XO2

Price: $13,000

Uneekor’s EYE XO2 is the benchmark in overhead launch monitors. Designed for those who accept nothing but the best, the EYE XO2 features three high-speed cameras, 24 ball and club data points (no marked ball required thanks to Dimple Optix), a patented EYE XO engine, a 300% larger hitting zone, and ultra-realistic rough and bunker mat recognition.

If 24 points of ball and club data and 3 high-speed cameras weren’t enough to grab your attention, the EYE XO2 now includes Uneekor’s Performance Optix package (Swing Cameras + Balance Mat) valued at $2700 - this bundle provides both an interactive balance mat and dual high-speed cameras for recording both face-on and down-the-line views of your swing.

Foresight’s Falcon

Price: $15,000

The Falcon boasts a Quadrascopic (four-camera) system that enables a high level of accuracy, capturing every detail of your swing and ball flight trajectory while allowing for precise analysis and feedback. It’s a more compact version of Foresight’s flagship product, the GCHawk (43” long vs. 89” long).

These dimensional changes make the Foresight Falcon available to fit into a broader range of locations and settings than the GCHawk. At the same time, it still uses the same data collection as other Foresight units and provides over a dozen points of ball and club information available for each shot.

The Falcon’s price tag is $15,000, which could deter the weekend warrior from committing to such a steep price point when there are better options available.

Trackman iO

Price: $13,995 / $21,495

The creators of the iconic orange box have thrown their hat into the overhead launch monitor game with the recently released Trackman iO. This model is ergonomic combining radar, infrared, and high-speed imaging.
The “iO” stands for “indoor optimized,” which sets it apart from the classic Trackman 4 which is largely for outdoor use.

One of the benefits of the iO is there are no minimum space requirements other than having enough room to swing a golf club. The Trackman iO doesn’t require any markers for the golf club or golf ball to track data, but does benefit from using Radar Capture Tracking (RCT) golf balls.

The Trackman iO starts at $13,995 but comes with very minimal software and can quickly add up to a whopping $21,495 depending on whether or not you’re interested in accessing club data.

ProTee Golf VX

Price: $6,500

This option is definitely the most budget-friendly on our list of the best home golf simulators, leaving off the bells and whistles for a straightforward experience.

By working in tandem with advanced simulation software such as Pro Tee Labs, and relying on AI analytics and 3D visualizations, complex data is simplified for the user.
